GENERAL ENGLISH OR FRENCH LANGUAGE COURSES

Full Time (English & French)

Our programs are especially designed for Foreign Students. Classes are given 5 hours daily from Monday to Friday for 5 months. This program is offered to those who want to learn a new language fluently very quickly.

  • Monday to Friday
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • The first two levels focus on oral communication
  • The third level focuses on oral communication and the basics of writing skills
  • The last two levels focus on writing skills and presentation skills.

In order to assess the level of competency, newly registered participants will take a placement test after registration.

Part Time (English & French)

A special programs for English/French students who wish to attend a semi-intensive class. This program of 6 hours per week is offered to provide professionals with competencies and knowledge needed to Improve their Language Skills

 Part Time Courses (Evening or weekends)

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend schedules are available
  • 6 hours per week from 6-8 P.M.
  • Small groups of 8 – 12 students
  • 6 to 24 weeks

Language Test Preparation Courses

The following test preparation courses are designed to help clients who prepare for the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), TEF (Test d'évaluation de français?), TEFaQ (Test d'évaluation de français adapté au Québec??);

Clients are required to have at least a high intermediate level of language proficiency  to qualify for the test preparation courses. Through participation, students can expect to develop their skills and test-taking strategies.

Note the completion of the preparation course is not a guarantee of obtaining successful results in the standardized test.

My name is Manesa Barnes; I'm an international student from Jamaica. Coming to a new country and adapting to the new lifestyle was different at first but as I meet friends along the way and open up more both in my language and those in my surroundings, I see myself improving since I started Evergreen College. I'm no long the shy person; thanks to Evergreen College. I have successfully completed the ECA program and now I'm currently enrolled in the community service program (CSW). I feel like I have accomplish a lot by doing assignments and group work. The ECA class was really great, because I appreciate the small classes because I feel that it enhanced my learning skills and encourage me to have one on one conversation with my professor and classmates. My perspective of the class was that it had a friendly environment that made me feel welcome. I enjoyed my field placement which I did for four months. Overtime as I got more Intune in what I was doing, the children became my priority. My professor prepare me for my field placement very well, so when I went out in the field I knew what I was doing because I knew how to apply what I've learned. While I was in the ECA class, I got the opportunity to visit the Scott Mission. By being involve in donating items such as clothing, can foods and money that was put together from the bake sale by the ECA class and professor.
